Gordon Greenbeans

I learned to cook green beans from my mother-in-law, Debbie Gordon. They are a staple at every holiday meal now. The kids and grown-ups alike enjoy them. The recipe can be doubled or tripled easily for a big crowd. This would serve about six people.

1/2 medium onion
3 strips of bacon or 2 chicken or beef bouillon cubes
3 cans of green beans

Saute the onion and bacon/ bouillon on a sauce pan until tender (If you use bouillon you will need to add a bit of olive oil to the onion). Add green beans. Add water until covered. Boil on medium heat until cooked down. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve.

* For a big meal you can cook the beans early then place them in the crock pot until time for the meal.
